Shallow sand filter is a fully automatic filter used for water treatment, typically used to remove suspended solids, sediment, microorganisms, and other impurities from water. It utilizes the particle size selectivity of the sand layer to filter out particles and suspended solids in water. When water flows through the sand layer, coarse particles are captured, while smaller particles and suspended solids pass through the sand layer. However, most of them are still further removed by microorganisms and biofilms in the sand layer, thus achieving the goal of purifying water quality. Shallow sand filters are generally composed of multiple tanks connected in parallel, with internal components such as water distributors and collectors, as well as bidirectional active flushing valves, which can achieve individual backwashing and brushing of multiple standard high-speed sand tanks during normal operation.
