Usage of rubber foam intake conical air filter
Preparation and positioning before installation
Before installing the rubber foam intake conical air filter, the installation position shall be accurately positioned according to the equipment design specifications. For example, in the engine intake system, the filter is usually installed upstream of the air filter assembly to ensure a smooth intake path. Before installation, it is necessary to check whether the ventilation system is blocked, damaged, or loosely connected, and to clean the installation area to prevent impurities from entering. In terms of tools, a screwdriver, wrench, and sealant need to be prepared. If the filter adopts a snap on design, a dedicated disassembly tool is required. During transportation and storage, the packaging must be kept intact and stored in the direction indicated on the packaging box, avoiding severe vibration or direct sunlight. The storage period should not exceed 12 months.

Standardized installation and sealing treatment
During installation, it is necessary to strictly follow the airflow direction markings and ensure that the arrow on the outer frame is consistent with the intake direction. When installed vertically, the folds of the filter material should be perpendicular to the ground to prevent deformation of the filter material from affecting filtration efficiency. Taking a certain model of truck engine as an example, the installation steps are as follows: first, loosen the intake pipe clamp, align the conical end of the filter with the intake port, and slowly push it in until the sealing ring is completely fitted; Then tighten the clamp with a torque controlled at 15-20N · m to avoid over tightening and damaging the sealing ring. If flange connection is used, high-temperature resistant sealant should be applied at the interface, with a thickness not exceeding 1mm, to ensure no leakage within 24 hours. After installation, it is necessary to use a differential pressure gauge to detect the initial pressure difference. The normal value should be below 0.5kPa. If it exceeds the standard, the seal needs to be readjusted.

Operation monitoring and maintenance cycle
During the operation of the equipment, it is necessary to check the filter pressure difference daily. When the pressure difference exceeds twice the initial value (usually ≥ 1.0kPa), it indicates that the filter material has been clogged. Taking mining air compressors as an example, in the northwest sandstorm environment, the filter replacement cycle is about 3 months; In the cleaning workshop, the cycle can be extended to 6 months. When replacing, it is necessary to first close the intake valve, exhaust the residual gas in the pipeline, then loosen the fixing bolts, remove the old filter element, and clean the dust inside the filter box. Before installing the new filter element, it is necessary to check the integrity of the sealing ring. After insertion, gently press the top of the filter element to ensure even contact with the filter box. If a pulse blowback cleaning system is used, it is necessary to perform a blowback operation once a week with a pressure set at 0.3-0.5MPa, lasting 10-15 seconds each time, which can extend the service life of the filter element by more than 30%.
