Fuel filters for construction machinery
Characteristics of Fuel Filters
1. Efficient filtration: The main function of a fuel filter is to filter solid impurities in the fuel, such as smoke, compounds, iron oxide, dust, etc., in order to avoid blockages in the fuel system, especially in the fuel injectors.
2. Strong pressure adaptability: Different types of fuel filters can withstand different fuel pressures. For example, electronic fuel injection filters often withstand fuel pressures of 200~300KPA, so the pressure resistance strength of the filter is generally required to be above 500KPA, while chemical fuel filters do not need to reach such high pressures.
3. Diverse Structures: Fuel filters have various structures, including diesel filters and gasoline filters, and they come in different types, such as external and internal, as well as ordinary direct entry and two designs with return lines. These different types of filters are suitable for different types of vehicles and fuel systems.
Introduction to Fuel Filters
1. Type: Fuel filters include three types: diesel filters, gasoline filters, and natural gas filters.
2. Installation position: The fuel filter is usually installed on the pipeline between the fuel pump and the inlet of the throttle body. External filters are usually located at the bottom of the chassis, while internal filters are installed inside the fuel tank.
3. Function: The main function of a fuel filter is to clean the fuel, remove impurities, moisture, etc. from the fuel, provide clean fuel for the engine, protect the precision parts of the electronic fuel injection system, optimize engine performance, reduce mechanical wear, ensure stable engine operation, and improve reliability.
Usage of fuel filter
Fuel filters are consumables that require regular replacement and maintenance during vehicle use. The recommended replacement interval for normal maintenance of external filters by most car manufacturers is 48000 kilometers, while the recommended replacement interval for conservative maintenance is 19-24000 kilometers. Car owners can refer to the vehicle manual to determine the specific replacement timing. Under normal usage, it is generally recommended to replace the fuel filter every 20000 kilometers of vehicle travel. If the fuel quality is poor, the replacement cycle should be shortened. Usually, the fuel filter is replaced together with the air filter and oil filter during major maintenance of the car.
